Credit cards
Statement cycles with cutoff and due days, credit limits, outstanding balances, unbilled installments, and due-date reminders — per card.
Credit cards in Bluecoins are liability accounts with their own statement logic. Each card has a statement cycle — defined by a cutoff day and a due day — plus a credit limit, and the app calculates the full statement view from your transactions on that account.
Statement cycle
For every credit card you configure two days:
- Cutoff day — the day the statement period ends. Purchases after the cutoff belong to the next statement.
- Due day — the day payment is due.
The current statement period is derived from today’s date and the cutoff day: if today is on or past the cutoff, the period started on the cutoff day this month; otherwise it started on the cutoff day of last month.
Credit limit
Each card has a credit limit, stored in the account’s currency and displayed in your home currency. The credit-card view shows how much of the limit is used and how much remains available.
What a statement shows
For each card you see:
- Previous balance — the running balance as of the cutoff date.
- Purchases — spending since the cutoff (transfer-outs count; the opening balance does not).
- Payments — income and transfers into the card, plus the opening balance.
- Outstanding balance — what you owe now. It is clamped so it never shows a positive number: if you have overpaid, you see a credit, never phantom debt.
- Unbilled installments — installment and advance purchases that are not yet part of the current statement period.
- Available credit — the limit, plus the raw outstanding balance and unbilled purchases, so overpayments correctly increase what you have available.
Installment plans
When you record a purchase on a credit card, the transaction form offers installment terms: the number of months and the interest rate (for example 2% per month). The monthly payment is shown as amount ÷ months + amount × rate ÷ 100. Installments that have not reached the statement yet appear in the statement’s unbilled amount.
Where to see and configure cards
- Credit-card report — a full-screen, paged view with one page per card.
- CreditCardInfo — per-card detail: cutoff day dropdown, due day dropdown, and credit limit (entered through a calculator). This is also where you edit the card’s account.
- Account transactions — when you open a credit card account, a third tab (CreditCardInfo) joins the table and chart tabs.
- Dashboard — a credit-card card shows one utilization bar per card; tapping a bar opens the report.
Due-date reminders
Bluecoins schedules reminders from each card’s due day, so a payment that is coming up triggers a notification. Credit-card due reminders are configured alongside the other reminder settings in the app’s notification settings.
Credit cards sit on the liabilities side of your balance sheet, and installment terms are set in the transaction form.
