Transaction

The Transaction Setup screen groups the defaults that make the transaction form faster to fill. Open the app drawer, tap Settings, then Transaction Setup.

Item Entry

• Automatic completion — choose which fields are filled automatically from the previous entry: amount, category, account, notes, labels, and split transaction.
• Automatic suggestion — choose which items from your history are included in the automatic suggestions while you type.
• Unnamed transaction — set the preferred name Bluecoins uses for unnamed transactions.
• Save and Add another — choose which parameters are cleared before adding another transaction (the “Plus One” quick re-entry).

Defaults

• Category — the default category for new transactions.
• Account — the default account for new transactions.

Advanced

• Remember Last Currency / Remember Exchange Rate — reuse the last-used currency and exchange rate for new transactions.
• Pop-up Calculator — show the calculator immediately when creating a new transaction.
• Row style — customize how transaction rows are displayed.
• Show Keyboard Immediately — open the keyboard as soon as the form opens.
• Enable quick date selector — close the date selector as soon as a date is picked (may have issues on older devices).
• Show Time — include a time field in the transaction form.
• Expanded Notes / Expanded Labels — show notes text and label names on transaction lists instead of icons.
• Display account and category in one line — one-line account-and-category rows in the transactions list (turn off to see them separately).
• Open transactions directly in edit mode — skip the read-only view and go straight to editing an existing transaction.

Health advice

Set the default account and category to the ones you use most, and enable automatic completion for them — combined, they make a new transaction a two-tap job. If you never review a transaction read-only, “Open transactions directly in edit mode” removes an extra tap from every edit.
